About the trip
Lakey Peak & friends
Lakey Peak peels both left and right off the same peak and works through all tides, which makes it one of Indonesia’s most versatile waves. Around it sits a cluster of world-class breaks for every level, from mellow beginner walls to heavy, hollow tubes.
Lakey and its surrounding reefs break across several spots, so there is always a wave to suit your level. We start where it fits you (the mellower walls like Nungas) and progress towards the faster, more technical sections such as Periscope and Lakey Pipe as your confidence grows. You’ll leave surfing faster, more confident, and reading the ocean better than ever.
The waves work best in the dry season (April to October) on a solid swell, with the morning offshores grooming clean, hollow faces. Between sessions it’s all warm water, reef and nothing but the sound of the surf.

How the days flow
Morning
Coffee and a surf check at the tower as the offshore wind grooms the Peak. First session on the cleanest waves of the day: Lakey Peak, Nungas or wherever suits your level best.
Midday
Breakfast, rest and video review: we break down your session clip by clip and set one or two clear focus points for the next surf.
Afternoon
Back out for a second session as the tide turns, hopping to Periscope, Cobblestones or Lakey Pipe if it’s firing.
Evening
Sunset, fresh food and stories from the lineup back at the camp before an early night, ready to do it all again.

What level do I need for Lakey Peak?
Intermediate to advanced. These waves break over reef and carry real power. Nungas is the mellower end of the scale, while Periscope and Lakey Pipe are faster and more technical. Not sure where you sit? Tell us your experience and we’ll place you honestly.
How long is the trip, and how many people come along?
A minimum of one week, and from two guests. The longer stay is deliberate. It gives the swell time to move through and lets you surf several different spots.
