Stand up on your very first wave

Surfing looks hard from the beach, but with the right wave, the right board and a coach reading the ocean for you, standing up comes faster than you’d think. We start you in gentle whitewater on a soft, stable board, and most of our guests are up and riding on their very first day.

You don’t need to be fit, young or fearless. You just need to be comfortable swimming, and bring a willingness to have fun. We take care of the rest.

FAQ

Have you never surfed before?

Perfect. These lessons are built exactly for first-timers. No experience needed, just the willingness to give it a go.

Will I really stand up on my first day?

Most of our beginners do, riding whitewater waves on day one. Everyone learns at their own pace, but with the right wave and a coach beside you, it comes faster than you’d expect.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Yes. You should be comfortable swimming, as you’ll be in the ocean. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer, but basic water confidence keeps your session safe and fun.

Do I need to be fit?

Not especially. Paddling uses muscles you might not be used to, but our sessions are paced to you. Plenty of beginners of all ages and fitness levels learn here happily.

Is it 1:1 or a group?

Private 1:1 or 1:2 only. Your coach’s full attention is on you, every wave. Learning with a friend or partner? A 1:2 semi-private session is perfect.

What should I bring?

Just a swimsuit, a towel and good vibes. We provide the board, rash guard and reef-safe sunscreen for your face. A hat and some water for after are a good idea.

How long is a lesson?

A short theory briefing on the beach, then around two hours in and around the water.

Ready to catch your first wave?

Fun guaranteed. Bringing the family? We also run kids surf lessons with their own coach.
